About the position

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Technical Sales Specialist for our plumbing supply counter. This role involves assisting customers with expert product knowledge, sales support, and technical advice on plumbing materials and supplies. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of plumbing systems, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in person and via phone, identifying their needs and providing accurate product recommendations.
• Demonstrate expertise in plumbing products, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, tools, and other materials, while offering technical advice on installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Process sales orders, check stock availability, and ensure the timely delivery of products.
• Accurately pick and pack orders for walk-in and phone-in customers, ensuring that products are correctly labeled and ready for pickup or delivery.
• Provide on-the-spot technical assistance to customers, helping them troubleshoot issues with products or installations.
• Identify opportunities to recommend related or upgraded products based on customer needs.
• Work closely with team members and the Sales Manager to meet customer demands and achieve sales goals.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a technical role, particularly in plumbing, construction, or a related field is required.
• Strong understanding of plumbing systems and products, including pipes, fittings, water heaters, pumps, and related materials.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to serve a wide variety of customers in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to process orders and transactions accurately.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and contribute to achieving team goals.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations is a plus.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management, and order processing.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities to assist customers with product or installation issues.
