About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to lead and oversee greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory verification programs, ensuring technical rigor, compliance, and high-quality audit outcomes. The Technical Manager will manage complex audits, mentor and develop staff, and coordinate program operations while maintaining strong client relationships. You will serve as a key technical resource, guiding methodologies, procedures, and internal quality assurance processes. This position combines strategic program oversight with hands-on technical work, influencing both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The role requires collaboration across teams, critical analysis of GHG data, and participation in business development initiatives. It provides a dynamic, remote-friendly environment with opportunities for international engagement and career growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GHG Accounting, Data Science, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in GHG emissions, energy, sustainability, or a related sector.
  • Experience as a GHG verifier or in auditing environmental or sustainability programs, with advanced quantitative and data analysis skills.
  • Strong technical writing, observation, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data management systems.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment, with domestic and international travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • CARB-accredited MRR Lead Verifier or equivalent credential preferred.
  • Multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical audits on complex GHG inventory verifications, both on-site and desk-based, ensuring adherence to voluntary and regulatory protocols.
  • Manage program operations, including recruitment, staff training, performance evaluation, and delegation of audit assignments.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to staff and contractors to maintain high-quality audit outcomes.
  • Oversee key client engagements, ensuring excellent service, technical accuracy, and effective communication tailored to diverse stakeholders.
  • Support business development by preparing proposals, identifying growth opportunities, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Develop and maintain program quality systems, procedures, and documentation to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Monitor industry standards, regulations, and protocols to ensure program relevance and technical accuracy.
