About The Position

Prysmian is a global leader in energy and digital connection solutions, specializing in resilient, high-performing, sustainable, and innovative cable systems. We are seeking Technical Machine Operators who are considered top craftsmen in wire and cable manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to learn detailed procedures, and patience. Prysmian is hiring for various skill levels, including entry-level, mid-level, and highly skilled positions within different operational processes such as Extrusion (applying rubber or plastic material over a core) and Cabling (twisting multiple components into a single cable). Entry-level roles also involve working with components like taping, braiding, or order cutting, which are crucial to the overall process.

Requirements

Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five to fifty pounds.
Ability to spend many hours sitting or standing.
Ability to work in an environment that can sometimes reach high levels of heat and sound.
Ability to speak, read, and write using basic English for communication with peers and managers.
Ability to participate in team building exercises.

Prior experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently run machinery to produce various wires and cables.
Operate machines to produce finished cables or components.
Take multiple components (wires, fillers, tapes) and load machines to twist them into constructed cables.
Work with components in processes such as taping, braiding, or order cutting.
Become experienced with machine operations, computer data logging, and basic inventory control.
Safely perform tasks and meet company standards of operation.
Collaborate with peers and managers in teams to increase efficiency and work toward company goals.
