About The Position

CoStar Group is seeking an accomplished Technical Business Analyst to join their team. This role will support multiple software products and brands across the organization, including www.costar.com. The analyst will have a direct impact on highly visible web applications used by millions of users. The position involves continuous learning of emerging technologies and architecture advancements, applying these to improve software products. This role is located in Arlington, VA, with a hybrid work schedule of 4 days onsite and 1 day remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not for profit, in-person university or college.
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers.
  • 3+ years of Product, Systems, or Business analysis experience.
  • Highly self-directed with the ability to drive outcomes with minimal supervision.
  • Documenting detailed product requirements for multiple development teams.
  • Agile/Scrum experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic SQL database knowledge.
  • 2+ years of Product Owner experience.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Experience with process/architecture diagram tools like Visio.
  • Experience with Agile Development process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Documenting requirements for API work a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding the CoStar business, product goals, and its place in the commercial real estate industry.
  • Articulating the product team's vision to the development team, translating it into artifacts like User Stories.
  • Translating complex business rules into clear specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintaining communication with software developers, management, and Product Design.
  • Holding stakeholder/grooming meetings to update interested parties on project progress.
  • Documenting user requirements and business rules for application development.
  • Understanding End-To-End test cases at application and multi-application levels.
  • Working with QA Staff to ensure comprehensive testing and provide input on testing new features.
  • Responding to issues raised by internal and external groups.
  • Analyzing application and usage data to understand products and customers.
