About the position

The Restaurant Shift Leader at McAlister's Deli plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation. This position involves directing the restaurant's operations in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager, supervising team members, and addressing any issues that arise with staff, suppliers, or guests.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision during assigned shifts.
• Ensure a positive experience and atmosphere for team members and guests.
• Manage both FOH and BOH shift responsibilities, including staff scheduling to minimize overtime.
• Monitor speed of service to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Handle guest comments and complaints effectively.
• Supervise daily shifts to maintain McAlister's standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
• Assist in the ongoing training of team members, including new hires and existing staff.
• Perform line checks as necessary to ensure quality.
• Enforce uniform policy and standards among staff.
• Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Open and close the restaurant in the absence of upper management.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience within the food service industry; supervisory experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Retail experience is preferred.
