About the position

This position assists in the daily and ongoing operation, including oversight of processes related to: smooth flow of patients and most efficient use of high tech ultrasound resources; implement a continuous quality control/improvement program to enhance utilization of these resources; establish an ongoing orientation, training, and continuing education program for Ultrasonographers; and assists in management of inventory control. Independently performs requested ultrasound examinations searching for any possible pathology as indicated by the patients' symptoms, medical history and/or results from previous testing. Reviews and discusses the ultrasound findings with the Radiologists.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a continuous quality control/improvement program.
  • Establish ongoing orientation, training, and continuing education for Ultrasonographers.
  • Assist in management of inventory control.
  • Independently perform requested ultrasound examinations.
  • Review and discuss ultrasound findings with Radiologists.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED (Required)
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
  • RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasonography program
  • Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or equivalent certification
  • Passed the physics and at least one other specialty of the ARDMS or equivalent registry
  • Competent computer skills with a good understanding of Electronic Medical Record Systems
  • At least two years of previous Ultrasound Experience.
