About the position

The Team Lead position at Follett Higher Ed Group is a part-time role focused on supporting the Department Manager(s) or Store Manager in various operational tasks. The role involves receiving, pricing, and stocking merchandise to enhance customer satisfaction and drive sales. The Team Lead also plays a crucial role in training team members and ensuring compliance with company policies, while acting as the leader on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Department Manager(s) or Store Manager in receiving, pricing, and stocking merchandise.
  • Drive sales and profits by meeting customer needs.
  • Support Team Members in completing store tasks.
  • Ensure all team members receive appropriate training and ongoing compliance education.
  • Act as leader on duty, addressing customer and team member concerns in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Open and close the store, ensuring safety and security of all bookstore property and team members.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to consistently walk and stand; able to lift 25-50 pounds; ability to move merchandise using proper equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including creating and saving text documents and sending emails.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
