About the position

The Classroom Teacher at Chandler Unified School District is responsible for leading students towards their potential by delivering the district curriculum through effective classroom instruction. This role involves creating meaningful learning experiences, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse student needs, and participating in school-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates learning goals to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language.
  • Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the student population including curriculum that addresses learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems and students with special needs.
  • Create lesson plans describing daily learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards.
  • Use available technology to enhance learning.
  • Use district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs.
  • Facilitate instruction based on current research-based best practices.
  • Effectively implement Individual Education Plans.
  • Establish classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction.
  • Participate in team reviews concerning academic progress of low performing students.
  • Document and resolve issues related to student behavior problems and attendance.
  • Reflect on teaching and strive to improve professional competence.
  • Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities.
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, legible and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Participate in intervention process at sites.
  • Participate in school-wide events, scheduled meetings and parent conferences.
  • Participate in school and District initiatives.
  • Assume individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision or other planning and professional assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate.
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in conflict management.
