About the position
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Special Education Teacher is responsible for maximizing the learning experience of students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living. This is achieved by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities, and addressing students' specific needs. The teacher will also provide a safe and optimal learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Implement district-approved curriculum for students with special needs.
- Document teaching and student progress/activities and outcomes.
- Address students' specific needs in academics and daily living skills.
- Provide a safe and optimal learning environment for students.
Requirements
- Valid teaching license in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in K-12 education.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
