The Teacher, Special Education is responsible for providing appropriate special education services specific to transition for eligible high school students in accordance with Federal and State regulations and School Board policies and procedures. This role involves collaborating with special education leadership, businesses, and other teachers to support student transition goals. The teacher will assist students in developing employment-related skills, monitor their progress towards postsecondary goals, and provide direct instruction on topics such as resume writing, interviewing, and postsecondary options. Communication and collaboration with students, staff, families, and adult service organizations are key components of this position. The teacher will also participate in IEP meetings, assist in developing transition plans, and conduct various transition assessments. Data collection and analysis on student readiness and skills are also required.
