About the position
As a Special Education Teacher at the Legacy Deer Valley campus, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you connect and work one-on-one with students needing special support to understand both their capabilities and disabilities. You will develop and apply personalized learning approaches and programs that support their growth, progress, and success. You will create a classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students, and allows them to perform at their very best. Utilizing direct instruction techniques, you will guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote their social, physical, and intellectual growth necessary for primary school success. You will explore individual needs and provide side-by-side support to discover how each student best learns, developing personalized solutions to each student's learning style and abilities. Mastering our proven curriculum, you will implement our philosophy of education and guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. Evaluating each student's learning capabilities, you will celebrate their accomplishments and encourage them to uphold our values, modeling mature behavior and good character both in the classroom and throughout their lives.

Requirements
- Holding a bachelor's degree and a current teaching certificate within the state.
- Proven proficiency and experience in the subject of focus and specialty area.
- Ability to create positive energy that fuels school spirit.
- Experience in building significant connections with students, parents, and educators.
- Willingness to participate in events outside of normal hours.
- Ability to perform light lifting, sitting, standing, and moving throughout the campus.
