About the position
The Teacher Assistant-Reliever position at Early Development Services involves supporting the Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing and educational environment for toddlers and preschool children. This part-time role focuses on assisting in classroom management, promoting child development, and fostering a multilingual and inclusive atmosphere. The position requires collaboration with staff and families to ensure the well-being and growth of all children enrolled in the program.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a safe and nurturing indoor and outdoor environment for children.
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum plans that promote developmental milestones.
- Supervise and instruct children during activities and play.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and workshops to enhance professional development.
- Maintain open communication with children, staff, and parents, ensuring confidentiality.
- Assist in activities that support the parent community, including meetings and conferences.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and engage in physical activities with children.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain confidentiality.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual ability in English/Spanish.
- Experience working with a diverse and multicultural population.
- A minimum of 6 Early Childhood Education/Child Development units or enrollment in related classes.
