About the position

The Bilingual Spanish Teacher for 5th Grade at MCFEE Elementary School is responsible for providing students with engaging learning activities and experiences that promote their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The teacher will develop competencies and skills in students to help them succeed in society, while also managing classroom behavior and fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet district curriculum requirements.
  • Prepare lessons that accommodate individual student differences.
  • Plan and utilize appropriate instructional strategies and materials based on students' learning styles.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students as per IEP guidelines.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as a sponsor.
  • Create a conducive classroom environment for learning and development.
  • Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff development activities to enhance job-related skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the assigned subject and level.
  • Demonstrated competency in the assigned academic subject area.
  • Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum instruction.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior effectively.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in bilingual education or teaching Spanish-speaking students.
  • Familiarity with technology and instructional materials for diverse learners.
