Tax Specialist

Responsibilities

• Prepare sales tax workpapers for use in monthly compliance.
• Prepare property tax workpapers for use in annual compliance.
• Prepare annual state regulatory report filings.
• Prepare Daily Cash book analysis of transactions in company bank accounts.
• Review Positive pay exceptions and submit for approval.
• Manage business license preparation, payments & submissions via management software.
• Maintain system of payments and filings processed through the tax department.
• Identify opportunities to enhance technology and innovation that will enhance departmental effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to security and safety policies best practices and controls.
• Assist with various special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Proficiency in personal computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing; familiar with ERP system, i.e. Oracle, Workday and proficiency maneuvering through the Internet.
• Associate's degree in business or accounting. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks; strong organizational skills.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage change efficiently, proactively and in a positive manner.
