About the position

As a Tax Professional at H&R Block, you will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their tax needs through personalized service and expert support. This seasonal position involves conducting tax interviews, preparing accurate tax returns, and providing IRS audit support, all while fostering strong client relationships. You will be part of a dedicated team that emphasizes advanced training and professional growth, ensuring you are well-equipped to meet diverse client needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth and increase client retention.
• Offer additional products and services to clients.
• Provide clients with IRS audit support.
• Mentor and support teammates.

Requirements

• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
• Experience completing individual tax returns.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with virtual tools such as video, phone, and chat.
• Effective communication skills in person, via phone, and in writing.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• Must complete 18-hour continuing education requirement and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership).
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews.
• Tax planning and audit support experience.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.
