About the position
We are seeking motivated and self-driven individuals to join our team as Tax Preparers. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses while ensuring compliance with tax laws. The position offers flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity to work from home or in an office environment. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial concepts, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and corporate clients.
- Analyze financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and changes in the market.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding their tax situations.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and documentation.
- Review financial statements and accounts to identify potential deductions or credits.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the filing process.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in tax preparation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Excellent mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong analytical abilities to assess financial data accurately.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Sage accounting software.
- Prior tax experience (2 years preferred).
- Bookkeeping experience (1 year preferred).
