About the position

The Tax Director at CBIZ is responsible for overseeing tax services and expanding revenue from existing clients while identifying new business opportunities. This role requires strong leadership and client management skills, ensuring quality control and acting as a trusted advisor to clients. The Tax Director will also manage a team, meet business development expectations, and contribute to the overall strategic planning of the practice.

Responsibilities

• Expand revenue of existing clients
• Responsible for short-term and long-term business planning
• Identify business opportunities for CBIZ
• Manage practice effectively meeting billing, realization, days outstanding and individual charge hour objectives
• Meet business development revenue expectations by adding new clients and executing a personal marketing plan
• Serve as key client contact and trusted business advisor
• Ensure quality control standards are met
• Work directly with clients and manage staff
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert on technical matters
• Drive a team environment and support management decisions

Requirements

• Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field
• Bachelor's degree required
• 8 years of experience in public accounting or related field
• 6 years of supervisory experience
• Active CPA or equivalent certification
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize assignments
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills
