About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a Tax Staff Associate to join their growing Houston office. This role is ideal for someone early in their tax career who is looking to build a strong technical foundation while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment. As a Tax Staff Associate, you will gain hands-on experience across a variety of tax engagements, work with clients from multiple industries, and develop your skills through meaningful work and ongoing mentorship.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
0+ years of relevant accounting or tax experience (internship experience welcomed)
Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs
Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including same-day and occasional out-of-town travel
Willingness and ability to work moderate overtime throughout the year, with heavier overtime during peak tax seasons
Candidates must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. Cherry Bekaert will not provide work sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

Work on a wide variety of tax engagements under the supervision of Tax Seniors and Tax Managers
Engage and serve clients across multiple industries
Communicate with project in-charges and clients throughout engagements
Prepare basic and intermediate individual tax returns
Prepare federal and multi-state corporate tax returns, as well as basic partnership returns
Research fundamental tax issues using online research tools
Prepare and organize workpapers to support client deliverables
Perform other essential duties as needed to support the tax practice
