About the position

The Tax Analyst position at Zeeco involves managing various aspects of federal and state income tax filings, ensuring compliance and accuracy in tax reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a small but effective tax team, reporting directly to the Global Tax Manager. The position emphasizes flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule of monthly, quarterly, and annual federal and state income tax filings
• Maintain checklist showing completion and filing dates for all federal and state income tax filings
• Preparation of information for filing of annual federal and state income tax returns
• Monthly reconciliation to general ledger tax accounts
• Research and clear reconciling income tax items
• Research and support for corporate income tax federal and state tax audits
• Research and support for corporate income tax federal and state notices
• Preparation of information for any income tax amendments
• Prepare quarterly tax forecast
• Prepare annual forecast for income tax accrual by entity by jurisdiction
• Maintain organized filing system for corporate tax correspondence and returns
• Assist in additional general tax research and reconciliation where needed
• Assist in monthly sales tax returns reconciliations
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Two or more years of experience with corporate, partnership, and individual income tax preparation and analysis required
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with creating report queries to extract data to Excel for manipulation and reporting
• Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately and identify and correct errors
• Sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively interact with persons inside and outside the company
• Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities
• Ability to research, analyze, and retrieve data necessary to complete duties
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to walk up and down stairs and sit for long periods of time if necessary
