About The Position

This role involves assisting with the preparation and review of federal, state, and city tax return compliance for multiple entities, with a focus on real estate partnership returns. The position also includes fixed asset maintenance, preparation of various other tax types, research of technical tax issues, and preparation of year-end tax projections. Collaboration with tax and accounting team members is essential, along with performing other assigned duties and projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting (Required).
2+ years of relevant tax experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and instructions

Nice To Haves

An Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparing and reviewing federal, state, and city tax return compliance using CCH Axcess for multiple entities and states focusing on real estate partnership returns.
Fixed asset maintenance of the company’s residential, commercial, and corporate assets.
Preparation of other tax types, including sales and use tax, personal property tax, and other state tax filings.
Assist with research of technical tax issues related to return preparation, including staying current with tax law changes, through a combination of outside training and individual study.
Preparation and analysis of current or future transactions as required.
Preparation of year-end tax projections for entities and internal taxpayers, analyzing projection results for potential issues or planning opportunities.
Work collaboratively with all tax and accounting team members and management.
Various other duties and projects as assigned.
