About the position

The Manager in Training (MIT) program at T-Mobile is a 90-day blended-learning initiative designed to prepare individuals for the role of Retail Store Manager. The program immerses participants in all aspects of managing a T-Mobile Premium Retail Store, including supervising daily activities, ensuring store performance, and developing operational plans while mentoring the team. Successful completion of the program is required for promotion to a Retail Store Manager role.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for managing all guest services, store operations, sales, profitability, merchandise, inventory, expense control, human resources management, and operating costs.
  • Hiring and developing a team of effective Sales Associates.
  • Training store associates in using store systems to support the Customer Experience, including the Point of Sale.
  • Cultivating a positive environment that supports MobileOne's values.
  • Coaching Mobile Associates in building relationships with customers and understanding their needs.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized store environment at all times.
  • Ensuring that visual merchandising is engaging to customers, adhering to MobileOne/T-Mobile standards.
  • Staying updated on rapidly evolving T-Mobile technology and ensuring Mobile Associates are informed about new products and sales techniques.
  • Ensuring customer needs are met before they leave the store, facilitating the customer onboarding process.
  • Utilizing tools and resources to grow internal talent to the next level.
  • Driving operational efficiencies to minimize risk and protect the store's assets.

Requirements

  • One year previous management experience in retail, preferably in wireless.
  • Ability to lead and coach to deliver financial results.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
  • A high-school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of T-Mobile products, services, policies, systems, etc. preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office suite and G-suite abilities.
  • Effective communication in both written and verbal formats.
  • Ability to train others on the sales process and adapt to the Mobile Expert's learning style.
  • Ability to deliver both positive and constructive feedback in a productive manner.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all store sales/operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of retail management best practices.
  • Experience in wireless sales or technology-related fields.
