About the position
The position requires an individual to provide on or off-site technical support to users experiencing computer and technology issues. The technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading computer systems and peripherals. Additionally, the role involves providing technical assistance to teaching staff and administration, as well as assisting with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications equipment, cameras, and cabling. The technician will also maintain an inventory of hardware, software, and equipment, and will be required to document troubleshooting steps and corrective actions in a work order system. Furthermore, the technician will assist with the yearly deployment of new computers and equipment, which includes creating and maintaining computer images. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Technology, Network Administrator, and Systems Support Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Provide on or off-site technical support to users with computer and technology issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computer systems and peripherals.
- Provide technical assistance to teaching staff and administration.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data communications equipment, cameras, and cabling.
- Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and equipment.
- Document troubleshooting steps and corrective actions in work order system.
- Assist with yearly deployment of new computers and equipment, including creating and maintaining computer images.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Technology, Network Administrator, and Systems Support Specialist.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technical area of study.
- A+, or equivalent certification and 1-2 years technical experience may substitute for degree requirements.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in a school environment.
- Working knowledge of Mac iOS.
- Computer and laptop hardware replacement experience.
- Experience working with iPads and Chromebooks.
