About the position
The Systems Planner role at Fairlead Integrated, LLC. involves utilizing the Costpoint Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to manage and optimize the procurement and manufacturing processes. The position requires collaboration with production and project managers to address material shortages and ensure timely fulfillment of production schedules while adhering to quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Use Costpoint MRP system to create purchase requisitions and manufacturing orders.
- Plan materials to be purchased and assembled in-house.
- Identify material shortages and take action to ensure availability for scheduled work.
- Communicate with Production Managers and Project Managers regarding material shortages and risks to production schedules.
- Evaluate production schedules and execute MRP to maintain plans and reduce costs.
- Read and interpret Fairlead or Customer drawings and specifications.
- Develop best manufacturing plans and processes in collaboration with Production.
- Maintain configuration control of work packages and ensure accuracy of Manufacture Orders and BOMs.
- Coordinate with the Planning Manager to resolve production planning and control issues.
- Participate in and occasionally lead reviews of planned process steps for compliance with requirements.
- Adhere to the company's Quality Management System and ISO9001/AS9100 standards.
- Participate in weekly production meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production needs.
Requirements
- Experience reading and understanding blueprints and specifications.
- Working knowledge of blueprint and modeling software, with Solidworks preferred.
- Team-oriented and dependable individual with knowledge of manufacturing processes in a job shop environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 360 suite.
- Strong time management skills.
- Experience with ERP & MRP software, with Deltek Costpoint preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- BA/BS degree preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing planning experience with a BA/BS, 5 years with an AA/AS, or 10 years of relevant experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Excel macros.
