About the position
LMI is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a client in Northern Virginia, focusing on software development for an analysis, tool integration, and development initiative. The role involves processing large volumes of Packet Capture (PCAP) files and developing interfaces for the client's production environment, working collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the existing team to enhance the analysis system using the client's proprietary capabilities.
- Integrate capabilities from different analytic tools and systems.
- Design, develop, and test the capabilities being integrated.
- Implement capabilities that yield informative and predictive insights from processed data.
- Engineer solutions through tool integration, development, and scripting to meet use cases and provide additional capabilities.
- Evaluate the client's current strategy for Packet Capture (PCAP) data processing and suggest enhancements for cost-effective solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with Linux administration.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and SQL's Data Manipulation Language (DML).
- Experience developing and implementing software enhancements for Government mission systems.
- Experience integrating multiple applications.
- TS/SCI with polygraph required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with NiFi.
- Experience with PCAP.
- Understanding of the OSI model.
- Experience communicating and integrating APIs.
- Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processing.
- Experience with JIRA.
- Experience in user support and training.
