About the position
The Senior Systems Engineer position at KBR involves providing technical expertise and support in systems engineering and technical assistance (SETA) for customers in the intelligence and national security sectors. The role focuses on developing and optimizing defense systems, contributing to impactful projects that enhance national security. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive experience in systems engineering to support government program management and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical information to support the government program management decision-making process.
- Assist Government PMs in managing and controlling the definition and management of the system configuration.
- Translate system definitions into work breakdown structures.
- Provide technical analyses and support in developing and applying advanced methods, theories, and research techniques on R&D through operational support projects.
- Conceive, plan, and conduct research and analysis in complex technological problem areas.
- Assist the customer in performing Market Research associated with various areas of interest.
- Apply systems engineering concepts and principles to highly complex systems including disparate and customized subsystems.
- Provide technical support for all phases of system requirements development, including independent technical analyses and verification.
- Support system engineering and integrating functions for customer acquisitions, including requirements development and system design reviews.
- Lead trade studies, evaluate system performance and design, and perform CONOPS development and mission analysis.
- Assess R&D proposals for feasibility and progress towards mission goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline.
- 10+ years' demonstrated experience with System Architectures and the SE Design Process.
- A good understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and SysML.
