2026 Systems Engineer II - Air Power Operations - Onsite

RTXEl Segundo, CA
$75,800 - $144,200Onsite

About The Position

The ISMA Senior Engineer supports multiple IRADs, CR&Ds, and programs in both air and space domains as either an individual contributor and/or a technical lead overseeing other ISMA engineers. Our teams develop, analyze, and grade flexible integration solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics, and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate campaign, mission, and system level analysis and visualizations based on customer requirements. This is an Entry Level role onsite in El Segundo, CA. What You Will Do: You will support multiple IRADs, CR&Ds, and programs in both air and space domains as part team of ISMA engineers. You will be responsible for the development and integration of variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that effectively capture system and system of systems effects in complex threat environments. These models will generate virtual and/or analytical solutions to identify technology gaps, demonstrate the operational benefits of new mission concepts (e.g., Manned-Unmanned Teaming) in complex operational scenarios, develop requirements, test systems, and train operators. Evaluation of end-to-end system needs to discover system interfaces and data connectivity requirements across the kill-chain (e.g., ensuring sensors can “talk to” shooters). Modeling of system and mission kill chains (e.g., intercepting a threatening ballistic missile) with tools such as Government, Commercial, and Raytheon simulations (e.g. AFSIM, STK).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical and Computing Engineering
  • Course work related to radar (RF) or electro optical (EO) or infrared (IR) sensing systems
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB
  • Experience with Military Operations Analysis
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, or Design of Experiments
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Experience providing briefs and presentations to US government customers
  • Experience with AFSIM
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance
  • An active SCI
  • Experience with ESAMS
