About The Position

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Systems Engineer / Analyst to support our Huntsville, AL location. PeopleTec is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer/Analyst to support the development, integration, analysis, and assessment of Next-Generation Missile Defense system architectures. This position will serve as a technical bridge between Model-Based Systems Engineering, architecture development, and modeling, simulation, and analysis teams to ensure requirements, architecture products, mission analyses, and performance assessments remain aligned throughout the system life cycle. The successful candidate will support system-level requirements development, architecture modeling, trade studies, mission-thread analysis, capability assessments, and system-of-systems decision support. This role requires the ability to translate mission objectives into technical requirements, represent system architecture and behavior within MBSE tools, and use modeling and simulation results to inform architecture design, requirements refinement, and performance-based recommendations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, MBSE, missile defense analysis, modeling and simulation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience supporting missile defense systems or other complex defense system-of-systems architectures.
  • Experience applying MBSE principles, SysML, and CAMEO Systems Modeler.
  • Experience with GTRI Benchmark, AFSIM, or comparable modeling and simulation environments.
  • Strong understanding of MDA system architectures, lifecycle processes, verification and validation, and architecture assessment methods.
  • Ability to translate high-level mission objectives into detailed technical requirements, architecture representations, and analytical measures of performance.
  • Experience conducting trade studies, performance assessments, capability gap analyses, or mission-thread evaluations.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB or other analytical scripting, data analysis, or post-processing tools.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple technical teams and communicate effectively with both engineering and analysis-focused stakeholders.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting MDA, missile defense architecture development, or future integrated air and missile defense capabilities.
  • Familiarity with ballistic, hypersonic, cruise missile, or advanced threat engagement analysis.
  • Experience supporting government technical reviews, architecture working groups, or cross-agency engineering coordination.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate MBSE, architecture development, and modeling and simulation activities to support Next-Generation Missile Defense system-of-systems assessments.
  • Lead system-level requirements definition, analysis, validation, and traceability across multiple MDA and external programs.
  • Develop and maintain multi-layered system architecture models using MBSE methodologies, SysML, and CAMEO Systems Modeler.
  • Model and document system components, behaviors, interfaces, mission threads, and architecture relationships across agencies, programs, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain traceability from mission objectives and operational needs through requirements, architecture products, analysis results, verification, testing, and deployment.
  • Perform architecture trade studies, system performance assessments, capability gap analyses, and mission-thread evaluations for missile defense systems and future integrated architectures.
  • Use modeling and simulation environments such as GTRI Benchmark, AFSIM, or similar tools to assess ballistic, hypersonic, and advanced threat engagements.
  • Develop and execute analysis scripts, data post-processing routines, and performance assessment products using MATLAB or other analytical tools.
  • Interpret modeling and simulation outputs and integrate key findings into architecture models, requirements products, and decision-support materials.
  • Assess impacts to system scalability, interoperability, integration, and mission effectiveness to support architecture design decisions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams, analysts, government stakeholders, external partners, and technical leadership to ensure alignment with strategic missile defense objectives.
  • Prepare technical documentation, briefings, model artifacts, analysis summaries, and recommendations for government and program stakeholders.
