About the position

The System Analyst III position at North Wind Solutions is focused on supporting the IT Infrastructure organization by managing vulnerability remediation for systems within the Hanford Local Area Network (HLAN). This role involves direct communication with end users to address patching needs, creating schedules for remote access to workstations, and providing status updates on remediation efforts. The position requires familiarity with cybersecurity directives and vulnerability management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Vulnerability Management team regarding the current status of the patching matrix.
  • Communicate directly with end users regarding workstations that need attention for patch remediation.
  • Target specific vulnerabilities based on property number and severity level from a vulnerability spreadsheet.
  • Create schedules to gain remote access to workstations for vulnerability remediation.
  • Provide daily status updates to the Vulnerability Management team on remediation efforts.
  • Familiarize with Department of Homeland Security Binding Operational Directives 22-01 and 22-10.
  • Review reports on CISA released CVEs and other vulnerabilities for remediation efforts.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Information Management or related technical degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in performing patch/remediation management in an enterprise environment.
  • Education in Cyber Security field with experience in Vulnerability Remediation Management.
  • Familiarity with Department of Homeland Security Binding Operational Directives 22-01.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security scanning applications and their capabilities.
  • Knowledgeable of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, such as Splunk Enterprise Security.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Management tools, such as Tenable Security Center.

  • Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)
  • Knowledge of Hanford Site policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Understanding of the Hanford Software Quality Assurance (SQA) requirements.
