About the position

The Powhatan YMCA is seeking enthusiastic and energetic part-time swim instructors to lead swim lessons for program participants at their pool. This role involves teaching swimming skills and basic water safety to small groups of students while embodying the YMCA's core values.

Responsibilities

• Lead swim lessons for program participants.
• Teach swimming skills and basic water safety.
• Utilize a variety of tools and teaching techniques.
• Work with small groups of students of various ages.
• Maintain a positive and energetic environment.

Requirements

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts.

Nice-to-haves

• Current YMCA, American Red Cross Lifeguard, or Ellis and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor or WSI certifications.
