This position involves shadowing certified instructors while working towards obtaining the necessary YMCA Swim Instructor Skills Verification within 90 days of hire. Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist certified swim instructors to learn programming and emergency procedures.
- Communicate policies and procedures for the pool and whirlpool consistently.
- Provide excellent customer service in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 16.
- Ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water (Stage 4 level swimming skill).
- Complete YMCA Swim Instructor Skills Verification within 90 days from date of hire.
- Patience and ability to communicate with all ages and levels of swimmers.
- Dedicated to member safety and the mission of the YMCA.
