About The Position

The Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing (SVP, Sales & Marketing) is responsible for leading Crown Bioscience's global commercial organization and driving sustainable revenue growth across all regions and service platforms. This executive develops and executes global commercial strategies, strengthens customer relationships, enhances commercial effectiveness, and ensures alignment between customer needs, market opportunities, and business objectives. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the SVP, Sales & Marketing partners closely with Scientific Operations, Innovation, Finance, Human Resources, and Regional Leadership teams to support the company's strategic goals and deliver exceptional value to customers worldwide. The role is accountable for global revenue generation, market expansion, customer engagement, commercial excellence, brand positioning, portfolio growth, and overall commercial performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Pharmacology, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive commercial leadership experience within a CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences services, or related industry.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading global or multi-regional commercial organizations.
  • Demonstrated success leading Business Development, Sales, and Commercial Excellence functions.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets and commercial objectives.
  • Significant experience building and maintaining executive-level relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
  • Strong understanding of drug discovery, preclinical development, translational research, and pharmaceutical R&D outsourcing.
  • Experience developing commercial strategies, sales processes, forecasting methodologies, and customer engagement models.
  • Proven ability to lead large, global commercial organizations.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and drive organizational changes.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • MBA, PhD, or other advanced degree in a scientific or business discipline.

  • Experience overseeing Marketing, Product Management, Commercial Operations, or Sales Enablement functions.
  • Demonstrated success managing global strategic pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts.
  • Experience scaling commercial organizations during periods of rapid growth and transformation.

  • Knowledge of oncology, immunology, cell and gene therapy, biomarker discovery, or translational research markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Crown Bioscience's global commercial strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
  • Lead and develop regional commercial leaders and teams across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
  • Establish annual commercial objectives, sales targets, account strategies, and performance metrics.
  • Optimize deployment of commercial resources across regions, customer segments, products, and growth initiatives to maximize return on investment and achieve strategic business objectives.
  • Drive consistent execution of commercial initiatives across all regions and business segments.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the company's strategic direction and growth initiatives.
  • Own global revenue performance and achievement of annual sales targets.
  • Develop and execute strategies to expand relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic customers worldwide.
  • Identify new market opportunities and customer segments that support long-term growth objectives.
  • Lead strategic account planning and customer expansion initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support development and execution of pricing and commercial strategies that maximize business performance.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality customer experience throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Drive commercial effectiveness through optimization of sales processes, forecasting, pipeline management, analytics, and reporting.
  • Oversee development of commercial capabilities, training programs, and sales enablement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective utilization of CRM systems and commercial technologies.
  • Establish performance metrics and dashboards that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty.
  • Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for global Marketing and Product Management functions.
  • Ensure alignment between commercial strategy, customer needs, market opportunities, service offerings, and business objectives.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Management leadership to strengthen brand positioning, market presence, thought leadership, and customer engagement.
  • Review and guide portfolio strategy, market positioning, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market priorities.
  • Leverage customer insights, market intelligence, and competitive analysis to support business growth and investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with Scientific and Operational leadership to evaluate new market opportunities and support successful commercialization of new capabilities and services.
  • Ensure Marketing and Product Management strategies support revenue growth, customer retention, and long-term business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Scientific and Operational leadership to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Partner with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, pricing strategies, and commercial performance analysis.
  • Work with Human Resources on organizational development, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Support implementation of technologies, systems, and processes that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration across all regions and functions.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top commercial talent globally.
  • Coach and mentor commercial leaders to maximize performance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop succession plans and strengthen organizational capabilities to support future growth.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, accountability, innovation, and customer focus.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures throughout the organization.
  • Provides leadership and direction to Crown Bioscience's global commercial organization and is accountable for organizational performance, talent development, succession planning, and achievement of commercial objectives across all geographic regions.
