The position emphasizes learning through both classroom instruction and practical training, focusing on safety practices, equipment usage, and service documentation.

Responsibilities

• Learn and utilize safety practices associated with shop and field service operations.
• Learn required PPE for different shop and field service situations.
• Understand basic business concepts associated with the service department.
• Complete proper service documentation including time entry, service reports, and part order forms.
• Utilize information systems for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and ordering parts.
• Use hand and power tools for repairs and testing of industrial equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble parts or equipment as needed.
• Assist other technicians with larger equipment repairs.

Requirements

• High school education or GED is required.
• Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge from schooling or work experience.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb to perform repairs.
• Effective vision for performing repairs and researching technical manuals.
• Ability to lift and position parts up to 95 pounds and use mechanical hoists for heavier parts.
• Cognitive reasoning and problem-solving skills for technical equipment issues.

Nice-to-haves

• Exposure to PC-based equipment and parts information.
• Ability to learn and understand technical information and service manuals.
