About the position
The Geomatics Technician at SAM plays a crucial role in supporting both office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final deliverables for land surveying projects. This position involves utilizing advanced technology in the A/E/C industry to enhance project efficiency and client satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and principles.
Responsibilities
- Processing data utilizing SAM standards, including the evaluation of accuracy and sufficiency, under the direction of the supervisor.
- Monitoring field crew's production and quality assurance.
- Preparing survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings.
- Performing quality control checks of plats, drawings, and deliverables prepared by other technicians.
- Coordinating with the supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met.
Requirements
- 5+ years field and office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM projects, and construction layout and data processing.
- Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D required; MicroStation is a plus.
- Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus.
- Familiarity with GIS platforms is a plus, however, it is not necessary.
