About The Position

Barnes‑Jewish Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist (CST) to join their dynamic team at Barnes‑Jewish Hospital's POD 4, which specializes in all services including general, plastics, ophthalmology, endocrine, and oncology. The hospital is looking for someone who is flexible, dependable, and a great team member that would love to see their career grow. The role involves performing surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• <2 years or military equivalent experience
• No Supervisor Experience
• Surgical Technician (License & Certification)

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
