About The Position

The Administrator is accountable and responsible for all administrative functions of the Surgery Center. This is to include all accreditations, licenses, certifications, regulatory and other filings, as well as internal documentation to comply with ASC policies and procedures. The Administrator coordinates activities routinely, as appropriate, with the Chief Executive Officer, Clinical Supervisor, Medical Director, Business Office Director and Patient Care Committee. The Administrator is also responsible for front desk operations, procurement, facilities, and the day-to-day operations of the center.

Requirements

  • Current licensure in Virginia as a registered nurse
  • At least three years managerial experience in an ambulatory surgery center or an operating room in an acute care hospital.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Human relations skills.
  • Current BCLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree preferred.
  • ACLS and PALS certification preferred within 6 months of date of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all administrative employees of the Surgery Center. This includes recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and retention of staff.
  • Maintains services in accordance with written policies and in compliance with various regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • In cooperation with the Medical Director and Clinical Supervisor, develops and monitors standards of care.
  • Maintains a collegial relationship with physicians to ensure quality patient care.
  • Working with the Clinical Supervisor, maintains an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies, ensures equipment is maintained in good working order.
  • Fosters an environment which promotes staff growth and development.
  • Assesses the staff's educational needs and implements programs to meet those needs.
  • Monitors and ensures adherence to Surgery Center policies, procedures, and safety programs.
  • In cooperation with the Medical Director, is responsible for quality improvement.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Surgery Center, local hospitals, and the community.
  • Ensures efficient and effective patient care.
  • Secures contractual services necessary for the daily operations.
  • Maintains an awareness and understanding of current regulatory legislation as it impacts the Surgery Center and institutes changes as warranted.
  • On an as-needed basis may act in the capacity of a Registered Nurse, either in the preoperative area, postoperative area, or operating room.
  • All other functions as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Participates in the Adverse Incident reporting process, as necessary.
