About the position

This position will be assigned to the Resources Management Flight in Maxwell AFB, AL. This position is a Regular Part-Time position. You are guaranteed 20 hours, however you could work up to 40 hours per week. The hours for this position may vary. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave and benefits, to include Health/Dental, Life Insurance, Federal Long-Term Care Insurance, Employer Matching 401K and NAF Retirement.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the focal point for all 42nd Force Support Squadron (FSS) property management, ensuring property control and disposal processes are consistent with AFI/AFMAN and local guidance.
  • Provides logistic guidance, training and assistance for activities receiving Appropriated Funds (APF), Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) support.
  • Acts as liaison between FSS and Base Supply, Contracting, and DLA.
  • Instructs activity managers in organizing and controlling all property items and maintaining an accurate Master Fixed Asset Listing (MFAL).
  • Establishes and conducts annual property inventories, ensuring all items are properly labeled/marked and included on the MFAL.
  • Provides managers with property labels annually for new and old property items.
  • Reviews and processes all NAF property additions, adjustments, transfers and disposal forms prior to submitting to higher headquarters.
  • Manages and coordinates with activity managers on items submitted to government liquidators for resale.
  • Coordinates on items submitted for NAF Sales and oversees NAF Sales procedures.
  • Coordinates all items turned in to DLA.
  • Maintains documents/pictures and details of items sold for audit purposes.
  • Reviews and coordinates on APF and NAF capital requirements budgets (NRB), all out-of-cycle NAF purchase requests and all five-year capital requirements to ensure proper fund source is used.
  • Collaborates with the Resource Advisor on APF Unfunded Requirement processes and ensures proper fund source is used.
  • Initiates property custodian paperwork and ensures new activity managers conduct a property inventory of all items.
  • May be appointed as Primary Vehicle Control Officer (VCO) and focal point for vehicle support requirements for both APF and NAF vehicles.
  • Manages/monitors APF reports of survey and NAF inquiries and investigations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Must have current driver's license.
  • The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
  • Progressively responsible experience in supply work which provided knowledge of rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of the local supply organization and the organizations serviced.
  • Knowledge of supply inventory and accountability procedures and regulations.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and accounts reconciliation/balance.
  • Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate the ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve supply problems and/or deviations from normal supply management procedures or program requirements.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform a range of standard clerical assignments and to resolve recurring problems.
  • Knowledge of SAIS, Wide Area Workflow, and IBPS or comparable purchasing and reconciling systems.
  • Typing skills are required.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
