Supply Chain Summer Internship 2025

About the position

The Supply Chain Summer Internship at CenterPoint Energy offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the utility industry, specifically within the Procurement Organization. Interns will work closely with various teams to learn about procurement processes and contribute to projects that positively impact the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform SAP transactions and other duties as required by CNP Procurement personnel.
• Assist in the procurement of standard materials and services from suppliers at the lowest cost, considering quality and reliability.
• Execute RFX activities in conjunction with ongoing bid events.
• Extract, sort, format, interpret, and communicate various data analyses.
• Collaborate with other Summer Intern(s) on a group project that creates a positive impact on the Procurement organization.
• Develop a working knowledge of associated procurement systems and processes.

Requirements

• Currently a Junior attaining a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of education towards Supply Chain, Finance, Materials Management, Project Management, Business, Logistics, or related fields.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint capabilities.
