About the position

The Supply Chain Manager at Materion in Milwaukee will oversee the Production Planning and Inventory/Logistics teams, focusing on supply and inventory planning activities that align with the business strategy. This role aims to transform the culture into one that emphasizes proactive behaviors to enhance performance and productivity. The manager will optimize the Supply Chain environment, ensure transparency in performance, and collaborate with peers across plants for best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Production Planning and Inventory/Logistics teams.
  • Perform supply and inventory planning activities that complement the business strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations team to provide support and transparency regarding supply/demand constraints.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the plant's strategy topics related to Supply Chain.
  • Manage and coordinate the local Supply Chain team, ensuring development paths for team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice projects in Receiving, Shipping, Warehouse, and Planning.
  • Collaborate with team members in planning and warehouse management to maintain inventory levels.
  • Own On-Time-Delivery performance, Inventory Turns, and other key performance indicators.
  • Support and drive the Sales and Operations Planning process locally.
  • Be the subject matter expert related to SAP processes and execution of all supply chain functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with experience in supply chain management, inventory control, logistics, or production planning.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems related to materials requirements planning, distribution planning, or inventory control.
  • Experience with SAP is a must.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyze data effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across all levels and functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills to drive solutions in complex supply chain models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, energetic individual with the ability to follow through on issues.
