About the position

The Supply Chain Data Scientist will support the Department of Homeland Security's National Risk Management Center in enhancing the resilience of the nation's infrastructure. This role involves quantifying the impacts of supply chain disruptions and developing data science workflows to automate processes and create technical data artifacts. The position requires collaboration with data engineers and scientists to provide exploratory data visualization and support analytic products.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, collect, and organize information and data relevant to analytic workflows for understanding supply chain risks.
• Develop methodologies to ensure interoperability of deliverables with external systems.
• Perform data processing activities for data creation, curation, dissemination, standardization, and decommissioning.
• Support qualitative and quantitative techniques and processes.

Requirements

• 2 - 8 years of experience in intelligence collection, analysis, and supply chain risk management.
• High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of experience, Associate degree with 6 years, Bachelor's Degree with 4 years, or Master's Degree with 2 years of experience.
• Active Top-Secret Clearance and eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
• Experience in data science workflow automation and systems engineering of data workflows.
• Experience in data acquisition from public and private sector data sources, including ETL tasks.
• Experience with business intelligence and data visualization frameworks (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
• Demonstrated competencies in data science and data engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Python scripting language and associated visualization packages (e.g., Plotly, PyVis, Altair, Vega).
• Ability to learn ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
