About the position

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering Staff to support the Javelin program in Orlando, FL. This role involves extensive travel to suppliers and focuses on problem-solving, managing Failure Review Boards (FRB), and implementing corrective actions to resolve supplier-caused defects impacting production. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure quality systems are effective and to provide leadership in quality management at key suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive corrective actions leveraging input from cross-functional teams.
  • Integrate seamlessly with all MFC Quality disciplines.
  • Assess and provide insight into the effectiveness of Quality systems at program suppliers.
  • Represent the QMS organization at key suppliers experiencing ongoing problems or requiring follow-up visits.
  • Provide dynamic, proactive, and results-oriented leadership.

Requirements

  • STEM degree at bachelor's level or higher from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Minimum of 9 years of professional experience, or 7 years with a related Masters.
  • Ability to travel greater than 50% of the time.
  • Demonstrated ability to work at all levels of the organization to identify and drive systemic root cause and corrective action.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodology.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Effective communication skills to prepare and deliver clear communications to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and presentations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain a favorably-adjudicated SECRET security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with energetics, such as explosives, squibs, or solid rocket motors.
  • Experience driving strategies to strengthen Quality Management Systems at key suppliers.
  • Experience working with multiple levels of Government customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience with AS9102 (First Article Inspection) methodology and requirements.
  • Understanding of engineering drawing requirements including GD&T, electrical and mechanical inspection methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with Engineering, Production Operations, Global Supply Chain, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to form creative partnerships to improve execution and competitive performance.
  • Basic understanding of SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business systems.
  • Experience with source inspection and special processes at suppliers.
  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with strong skills in AS9100 certification and compliance requirements.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt).
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CSQ) and/or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA).
