About the position

This position is a Military Technician position with the 412th Theater Engineer Command, Headquarters Support Command, 854 Engineer Battalion, 411 Engineer Brigade located in Saugerties, NY. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Supervisory Staff Administrator in an Army Reserve Battalion or equivalent size unit.
  • Exercise supervision and control on behalf of the Commander.
  • Manage, coordinate and integrate the day to day operations of the Battalion.
  • Maintain oversight of the readiness status of subordinate units.
  • Advise the Commander and staff on policy matters relative to all phases of the United States Army Reserve Command (USAR) program.
  • Analyze and interpret incoming directives, policies, and instructions to implement the changes in the Battalion.
  • Direct and monitor compliance and actions required to improve programs.
  • Identify requirements for development of the yearly budget for Reserve Personnel Army and Operations Maintenance Army Reserve funds.

Requirements

  • Active membership as a Soldier in the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR).
  • One year of specialized experience managing or coordinating operations, plans, and programs for a unit in areas such as personnel and pay management, training, administration, supply, maintenance operations, information management, resource management, recruitment, inspections and investigations, public relations, and/or security.
  • Ability to interpret and provide advice on directives, policies, or instructions from higher headquarters.
  • Experience performing evaluations or inspections to ensure unit readiness.
  • Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a relevant field.
  • Combination of education and experience may be used to qualify.
