About the position

The Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist serves as a senior officer for the Montana VA Healthcare System's Veterans Transportation Service. This role involves planning, analyzing, implementing, and monitoring transportation programs for Veterans, ensuring efficient scheduling of routine, urgent, and emergent transport services across multiple sites of care.

Responsibilities

• Establish performance standards and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors.
• Oversee the daily operation of the unit and ensure compliance with agency policies and priorities.
• Develop performance standards and evaluate work performance of subordinates.
• Manage multiple service contracts and develop acquisition strategies for long-term contracts.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using bookkeeping and computer skills.
• Develop written products such as reports and presentations on sensitive and complex subjects.
• Identify and implement improvements in work processes and productivity.
• Resolve complaints and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Project a positive and professional image of the Medical Center.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required to apply for this job.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must have specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-07 level in the Federal service.
• Knowledge of transportation functions and Beneficiary Travel programs.
• Experience in managing service contracts and acquisition strategies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in healthcare administration or related fields.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to coordinate and evaluate staff efforts effectively.
