About the position

As a Supervisory Management Program Analyst in the Business Process Re-engineering Group at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, you will play a critical role in overseeing and enhancing project management processes within the Ship Maintenance Performance Group Division. Your primary responsibilities will include managing process improvement initiatives, leading the Project Management Fundamentals Course, and developing training instructions to ensure that all personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. You will be responsible for planning, assigning, and monitoring workloads, establishing performance standards, and conducting performance evaluations for your team. In this position, you will serve as the primary leadership contact for guidance and information related to administrative and functional matters concerning the Project Management Community of Practice. You will ensure that all project management processes are adhered to and compliant with established standards. This role requires a strong focus on strategic thinking and process improvement, as you will be tasked with identifying areas for enhancement and implementing effective solutions. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team. You will also be expected to engage in occasional travel, which may include visits to remote or isolated sites, and you must be prepared to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.
  • Experience in supervision and management of direct reports.
  • Experience in ship maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modernization.
  • Experience in project management operations and cost performance regarding naval vessels.
  • Experience in developing and instructing Project Management Fundamentals courses.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with process manuals and maintenance reviews.
  • Knowledge of federal employment regulations and procedures.
