About the position

The Supervisory Management and Program Analyst position at the Department of Veterans Affairs involves overseeing nationwide audit activities related to loans guaranteed by the VA. The incumbent will direct audits, provide technical guidance, and ensure compliance with federal standards while working under the general administrative direction of the Assistant Director for Oversight.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a nationwide audit activity related to loans guaranteed by VA.
• Follow generally acceptable Federal Government standards for performance audits.
• Direct performance of multiple nationwide audits, follow-up audits, and special audit and analysis projects.
• Select lenders/servicers to be reviewed and analyzed.
• Oversee national initiatives regarding program development and improvement of Loan Guaranty Oversight functions.
• Guide staff in creating project vision, goals, and milestones.
• Establish project documentation and reporting procedures to provide updates to management and executive staff.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-13 level.
• Experience in conducting audits and understanding federal regulations.
• Ability to supervise and manage projects or serve as a project lead.
• Understanding of employee relations, including performance or conduct-based actions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in federal audit operations.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and risk management principles.
