The Supervisory Management and Program Analyst position at the Department of Veterans Affairs is responsible for planning, directing, and organizing non-supervisory positions within the Office Support Section at the Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves providing administrative guidance, analyzing budgetary data, and supervising a small team, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies. This position is crucial in supporting the mission to care for America's Veterans and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Apply administrative policies and draft correspondence, recommendations, reports, and memoranda related to management and administrative programs.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on administrative services questions and situations.
  • Discuss pertinent issues with operating personnel to assess the impact of new or revised guidance on current operations.
  • Advise management officials and employees on the interpretation and application of human resources policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Analyze program, budgetary, and fiscal data and make budget recommendations to management.
  • Monitor expenditures and forecast changes that require reprogramming of funds for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Provide technical and administrative supervision of a small subordinate staff.
  • Identify and perform routine liaison tasks to support the organizational planning process.
  • Review work completion reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Participate in developing short and long-range goals and provide guidance for the organization's quality assurance plan.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required to apply for this job.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must meet time-in-grade requirements for GS-11 level.
  • One full year of specialized experience related to the position, or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative operations, human resources policies, and budgetary processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document and presentation development.
