About the position

This role focuses on developing and implementing training programs for Eversource's transmission System Operations. The position involves both classroom and hands-on training, utilizing various instructional methods to ensure effective learning. The initial three months require full-time office presence, after which it transitions to a hybrid model.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of Eversource transmission System Operations Training.
  • Conduct System Operator Training program activities in line with the Systematic Approach to Training and adult learning principles.
  • Incorporate simulation into the training programs.
  • Receive and evaluate training requests, presenting them to System Operations Training management.
  • Evaluate procedures, practices, and regulatory changes, modifying training materials as necessary.
  • Evaluate and recommend vendor-provided training content and services.
  • Represent System Operations Training at meetings, committees, and conferences.
  • Assist operations management in coordinating responses to system emergencies and participate in event review teams and incident analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in electric power distribution, transmission, or generation.
  • 4 years of experience as a System Operator preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as a trainer in a formalized training program preferred.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • NERC Transmission Operator or higher certification (or must obtain within 6 months).
  • Knowledge of electric transmission system operations and components.
  • Thorough knowledge of electric system switching and tagging procedures.
  • Knowledge of Energy Management System (EMS), Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS), and other operations support applications.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and proficiency with classroom and online presentation technologies.
