Supervisor - Packaging (Weekend Nights - Sat, Sun, Mon)

About the position

The Packaging Supervisor at L'Oréal will work in the Florence, KY manufacturing facility on a weekend night shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM). This role is crucial in supporting an interdependent safety culture and achieving the plant's mission of zero accidents. The supervisor will be responsible for various operational roles, including running lines, performing washouts, and providing operational support to the cell lines. The position involves assessing performance indicators and developing actions to improve safety, quality, and productivity. The supervisor will also coordinate activities, manage inventory, and support staff development, ensuring that all personnel can conduct production operations efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Fully supports an interdependent safety culture and works proactively to accomplish the safety mission in the plant of zero accidents.
• Supports and embraces the Quality and Environmental missions of the Plant.
• Capable of performing operational roles in the cell such as running lines and performing washouts.
• Continually assesses the performance indicators of the cell and develops actions to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Assists in facilitating Performance activities.
• Labor System Reporting.
• Inventory Management.
• Coordinates UP activity including operator line assignments, communication of line priorities, scheduling/requesting temporary employees, meetings, and trainings.
• Supports staff development to ensure that all cell personnel can conduct production operations efficiently.
• Responsible for 8-12 employees including operators and temporaries and 6-8 lines on a shift.
• Responsible for all training, coaching, and performance reviews for operators.
• Responsible for technical coaching and technical training of the team.
• Leads and drives Line Improvement Teams, and holds daily and weekly interventions for OEE tracking vs. goal.
• Is accountable for Safety, Quality, EEM, and Budget, regularly auditing Safety, Quality, and GMP rules.
• Ensures proper orientation/training of temporary employees.
• Fully embraces a can-do attitude and the drive to lead others to excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing management role.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proven organizational skills.
• Strong technical skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Coaching mentality.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
