About The Position

Responsible for technical operations of assigned department. Responsible for daily departmental operations and maintains an effective working relationship with internal and external customers. Provides effective leadership by coordinating and integrating services within their department, with other departments and with the hospital’s primary functions. Manages department human resources by determining qualifications, competence and performance expectations; implementing and monitoring staffing plans; providing orientation, in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department and applying policies/procedures pertaining to human resources management. Manages the environment (of care) by developing, implementing and monitoring processes to reduce and control environmental hazards and risks, preventing accidents and injuries and maintaining safe conditions for patients, staff and visitors. Presents medical staff quality review information at medical staff quality/department meetings. Assists with direct patient care. Administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved protocol. Assesses and improves the department’s performance by designing operational processes, monitoring performance through data, analyzing the data, implementing sustainable performance improvement, and participating in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI activities. Finance: Manage departmental budget including processes to monitor operational and capital costs Implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of the services. Participates in continuing education to maintain license/certification as appropriate. Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • Three (3) years health care experience
  • ARRT, ARMRIT, ARDMS, or NMTCB
  • CPR/BLS
  • Knowledgeable with department regulatory requirements including Joint Commission and state health department standards.
  • Ability to remain current with hospital, accreditation, regulatory and medical staff requirements in order to update policies and procedures as needed.
  • Ability to identify performance improvement opportunities and develop action plans to address quality assurance issues.

  • For team members working in South Carolina, SCRQSA certification with ARRT (except ARRT (MR) and ARRT(S)) and NMTCB
