About the position

The Human Resources department is seeking a dedicated leader to oversee daily functions including payroll, new hire orientation, recruitment, and onboarding. This role involves supervising department staff to ensure staffing needs are met and supporting FMLA/leave programs and worker's compensation. The successful candidate will ensure that all staff are placed on the correct leave status and that proper HR documentation is completed, collected, and updated as required by policy. Additionally, the position requires processing Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs) and assisting with employee issues while maintaining confidentiality in collaboration with the corporate employee relations department. The HR leader will be responsible for posting new and replacement positions through the iCIMS onboarding system, preparing reports for senior management regarding open positions, worker's compensation, FMLA, and performance improvement. The role also includes assisting in recruitment efforts, ensuring staff are informed of program events, policy updates, role expectations, and HR requirements, as well as coordinating benefits for employees. Acting as a liaison between Corporate and the program regarding HR-related issues is a key responsibility, along with conducting new hire orientation and training new HR/Payroll staff. Monthly audits for compliance of HR personnel records will also be part of the duties, along with supporting payroll preparation and validating payroll reports as needed. The HR leader will supervise a staff of two or more, determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow, while also issuing written and oral instructions and standardizing procedures to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily functions of the Human Resources department including payroll, new hire orientation, recruitment/onboarding.
  • Supervise the department staff for the program, ensuring staffing needs.
  • Support FMLA/leave programs and worker's compensation, ensuring correct leave status and proper HR documentation.
  • Process Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs).
  • Assist with employee issues and recommend action or disciplinary measures to management.
  • Post new, replacement positions through iCIMS onboarding.
  • Prepare reports for senior management regarding open positions, worker's comp, FMLA, and performance improvement.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts and ensure staff is informed of program events, policy updates, role expectations, and HR requirements.
  • Assist employees with coordination of benefits.

  • Attend meetings, training activities, courses, and all other work-related activities as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years prior relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively apply the policies and practices involved in the human resources function.
  • Ability to supervise staff in an engaging environment maintaining workforce production and development.
  • Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to navigate within automated systems and proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred.
