About the position

The Supervisor of Hospice Care Nursing at Northwell Health is responsible for overseeing the operations of Hospice Care services, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering optimal customer service. This role involves leading a team, managing resources, and improving operational performance through effective communication and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Leads the activities of assigned Hospice Care team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
• Prepares and analyzes operational and statistical reports.
• Reports operational performance and recommends justification for procedural and policy changes to improve operations.
• Establishes goals, objectives, and standards and ensures effective communication to staff.
• Selects, develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; oversees the selection, development, management and evaluation of indirect reports.
• Builds and maintains productive intra-departmental work relationships to optimize operations by attending departmental and inter-departmental meetings, sitting in on committees as necessary, and assist with special projects.
• Ensures operating compliance with government and agency regulations.
• Manages resources including operating budget, supplies, equipment, space, staff and information.
• Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience required.
